Food sovereignty entails a food system wherein individuals are involved in the production, distribution, and consumption of the food they create.

The implementation of farm-to-school programs holds significant importance for the enduring health, economic stability, and cultural preservation of American Indian communities. The World Sustainable Project (WSP) is actively advocating for increased self-sufficiency within these communities.

Food

Food sovereignty enables Native households and communities to tackle issues related to hunger and health by cultivating their own nutritious, fresh foods.

Traditional foods commonly found in American Indian households encompass wild rice, corn, beans, squash, venison, duck, and wild turkey.

Fresh Free Range Eggs

In alignment with the principle of food sovereignty, our poultry production results in the provision of fresh eggs for the benefit of our youth.

GARDENING

WSP has established a raised bed in the community garden to cultivate vegetables and herbs with the aim of bolstering our ability to provide the entire school with freshly grown produce.
